Corporate Leadership

Steven Boal , Chief Executive Officer

A former Wall Street executive, Steven Boal founded Quotient, formerly Incorporated, in 1998 and is responsible for its strategic and operational direction. Mr. Boal previously served as vice president of business development for Integral Development Corporation, a privately held financial software company in Silicon Valley. Prior to that, Mr. Boal was vice president and head of global emerging markets derivative technology at J.P. Morgan. Before that, he was president of OptEdge, a real-time options, analytics and risk management business. Mr. Boal also held various management positions at TriStar Market Data, most recently running the company’s Montgomery Securities division. He holds a B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.

Michael Walsh , Chief Security Officer & Head of Research and Development

Responsible for technology direction and development at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, Mike Walsh has been writing software professionally since 1985, contributing to a wide range of products, including compiler tools, electronic publishing software and AI predictive technology. Before joining Quotient, Mr. Walsh served as chief architect at TriStar Market Data, Inc., the developers of MarketMax, a real-time stock-quote distribution system. Prior to that, he served as a senior software engineer for Harlequin, Inc., as vice president of product development for Torque Systems, as QA consultant for Apple Inc., and as staff software engineer for Arthur Andersen. Mr. Walsh holds a B.S. from California Institute of Technology and an M.S. from Northwestern University.

Mir Aamir , President & Chief Operating Officer

Mir Aamir is president and chief operating officer at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, and oversees the company’s strategy and operations functions. He joined the Company in 2013 and brings more than 18 years of finance, strategy and operating experience, primarily in the retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries. Mr. Aamir was previously the Company’s chief financial officer responsible for finance and accounting functions. He came to Quotient from Safeway, Inc., where he was president of customer loyalty and digital technologies.

Mr. Aamir helped found and lead the Just for U™ platform, Safeway’s industry-leading digital and mobile platform for loyalty and targeted marketing. Previously at Safeway, he was senior vice president of marketing strategy, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), pricing and shopper card. Before that, he held the position of group vice president, FP&A and strategy, for all of Safeway’s U.S. business units with annual sales exceeding $33 billion. Prior to Safeway, Mr. Aamir was at A.T. Kearney, Inc., where he was officer and vice president for the strategy and management consulting firm’s consumer and retail practice. His clients included top grocery retailers and CPG manufacturers. Before that, Mr. Aamir held various positions at Procter & Gamble and Citicorp in Asia.

Mr. Aamir holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.B.A/M.B.A. in Finance from the Institute of Business at the University of Karachi.

Jennifer Ceran , Chief Financial Officer

Jennifer Ceran is chief financial officer at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, leading corporate finance, accounting and investor-relations functions. Ms. Ceran joined in WHEN? Previously she was vice president of finance at Box, Inc., the cloud-based, enterprise content management company. She joined Box in October 2012 and oversaw treasury, investor relations, and procurement functions.

Prior to joining Box, she spent almost a decade at eBay Inc. in varying roles, including VP Investor Relations, VP Financial Planning & Analysis and VP Treasurer. She managed every aspect of the company’s external capital raising activities and internal treasury operations. She also managed the Finance Leadership Development Program, designed to develop top finance talent, and was on the board of the eBay Foundation. Ceran also spent more than a decade at Sara Lee Corporation, where she held various finance roles across corporate development, FP&A and treasury in domestic and international markets.

Ceran’s achievements have been well recognized. In 2012, Institutional Investor magazine ranked her the No. 1 Investor Relations Professional in the Internet sector. For four consecutive years, from 2006 through 2009, Treasury and Risk magazine named her as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Finance.”

Ms Ceran has significant international experience, having lived and worked in France, The Netherlands and Ireland during her career. Ceran holds a M.B.A in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A from Vanderbilt University.

Richard Hornstein , General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer

Richard (Rich) Hornstein is general counsel and chief legal officer at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, and oversees all of the company’s legal functions. He joined the company in 2009 and brings more than 25 years of financial management experience and over 14 years of experience as a chief financial officer and general counsel of rapid-growth and international organizations in both public and private sectors. Mr. Hornstein joined Quotient from Financial Intelligence, an accounting services firm, where he was managing director. Before Financial Intelligence, he was chief financial officer at LogLogic, Inc., a provider of log and security management solutions. Prior to LogLogic, Mr. Hornstein was chief financial officer for Elemental Security, a provider of security software policy and risk management solutions, and served as chief financial officer of OpenTV Corp, a publicly traded interactive television software company. Mr. Hornstein was also chief financial officer and general counsel of Resonate, Inc., a publicly traded traffic control and system management company, and also served as general counsel, SVP of corporate development and SVP of taxation for McAfee Associates, Inc. He worked for the Big Four accounting firms of Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and KPMG. Mr. Hornstein also worked for the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan.

Mr. Hornstein holds a B.A. in Accounting from Queens College, a J.D. from Duke University, and a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University. Mr. Hornstein received his certification as a public accountant in New York in 1987 and was admitted to the bar in 1991.

Sunil Bopardikar , Senior Vice President of Technology

Sunil Bopardikar is senior vice president of technology at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, and oversees the company’s product development functions, including engineering, quality assurance, databases and infrastructure.

Mr. Bopardikar joined the company in 2010 and brings more than 20 years of experience in engineering and product development experience. Over the course of his career, he has held a range of positions at high profile Silicon Valley technology companies, including Yahoo! Inc., Oracle Corp. and Sun Microsystems, Inc. Mr. Bopardikar joined Quotient from Yahoo!, where he was senior director of engineering and responsible for the technology platform behind many of the company’s popular Web properties. Before Yahoo!, he was director of engineering at Oracle, where he built the Oracle On Demand Platform and was responsible for the introduction of several software as a service (SaaS) offerings. Before his tenure at Oracle, Mr. Bopardikar co-founded, ipSpeech, Inc., where he was CTO for this developer of voice routers. Before that, Mr. Bopardikar held a variety of engineering positions at Telera, Inc., JavaSoft (a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems), AirSoft, Inc., Sun Microsystems, Inc., and Convergent & Altos Computer Systems.

He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.

Bruce Sattley , Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy

Bruce Sattley is the senior vice president of corporate strategy at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, responsible for developing and executing strategic plans across all areas of the business. Previously, Sattley was the senior vice president of product management and oversaw the company’s product management functions, including product strategy, product research and definition, user experience testing and launch planning.

Mr. Sattley joined the company in 2010 and brings 20 years of experience in product management, engineering and marketing. Mr. Sattley spent six years at Yahoo!, where he most recently was vice president of product management. In this role, he managed multiple groups to drive development for analytics, business intelligence and data warehousing products for the Strategic Data Solutions and Advertising Products teams. Mr. Sattley left Yahoo! in 2009 to join Healthiest You, where he was vice president of product management and on the founding team for this provider of unique, brain-based online programs. Before joining Yahoo!, he was vice president of marketing at infoUSA, a leading online direct marketing company. Before that, he held a range of product marketing and engineering positions at YesMail, Netcentives, Inc., Post Communications, Lotus Development Corp., Ernst & Young LLP, and Electronic Data Systems (EDS).

He holds a B.S. in General Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business.

Casan Callaway , Vice President of Operations

Casan Callaway is the vice president of operations at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, overseeing the company’s operations functions. The operations team is responsible for executing digital offer and media promotions for advertisers, including retailers and consumer packaged goods companies. Operations consists of multiple roles located across the globe all focused on delivering operational excellence through scalable systems, processes, and world-class customer service.

Mr. Callaway joined the company in 2009, and brings over 15 years of experience in sales, business development, and business analytics. Prior to joining Quotient he spent four years at Random House Publishing, where he pioneered industry eBook initiatives to digitize content, grow account distribution channels, and increase consumer adoption. He also has experience in consulting and working at large financial institutions.

Mr. Callaway completed a double major in Economics and American Studies at the University of California, Berkeley where he led school spirit as their beloved mascot, Oski.

Marilyn Miller , Vice President of Human Resources

Marilyn Miller is the vice president of human resources at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, with over 20 years of experience leading global HR teams. She leads all the Company’s human resources functions, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development management, workforce planning and facilities.

Prior to joining Quotient, Ms. Miller most recently served as the senior vice president, human resources at AECOM. She has also held senior roles at BMC Software and Cisco systems.

Ms. Miller holds a B.S. from the University of Iowa.

Michael O’Neal , Vice President of Business Development

Michael O’Neal is vice president of business development at Quotient, formerly Incorporated, leading the strategic partnership activities across all of the company’s products. Mr. O’Neal brings more than 20 years of experience in business development, strategy, marketing and product development & management for online, media and technology companies. He has held senior business development and management roles at both venture-backed startups, such as and Information Markets, as well as Fortune 500 media companies including News Corporation’s News America Marketing and Viacom New Media. In these positions, he negotiated a range of strategic partnerships with media, online, and consumer technology and electronics companies. Most recently, Mr. O’Neal served as senior vice president of digital media for Christie’s, where he was responsible for digital product development, audience acquisition and channel development for the world’s leading art business. Mr. O’Neal holds a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University.
